music - so beautiful, and the scene with all those kids dancing is a classic! This was an improvised recipe, and it is a very strong drink. It is sweet, but it has a lot of alcohol that cuts through the sweetness a bit. This probably isn't a drink I would choose every day, but if you are having a Christmas party or feel like getting Christmas-ey, or, better yet, have a bunch of extra candy canes, this drink is perfect. I'll tell you how I made it after the jump.
4 oz vanilla flavored vodka (I used Stoli Vanil)
2 tablespoons peppermint schnapps
2 tablespoons grenadine
crushed candy canes or red sugar for rim
candy cane for garnish
Directions: Rub rim of glass martini glass with wet paper towel. Put crushed candy canes on plate and turn the martini glass around on the plate to coat with the crush candy canes. Pour the vodka, schnapps and grenadine in a cocktail shaker, fill with ice, shake vigorously and pour into martini glass, garnish with the candy cane.
