Almond Milk Hot Cocoa, Adapted from Martha Stewart Living Magazine.
Ingredients (for 4 servings)
4 cups unsweetened almond milk
2 cinnamon sticks
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 ounces dark chocolate, chopped
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon course salt
- Bring milk and cinnamon sticks to a low boil in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
- After the milk comes to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove the cinnamon sticks.
- Whisk in cocoa, chocolate, sugar and salt. Whisk vigorously until the mixture is foamy, a couple of minutes.
- Pour into mugs and serve. Feel free to garnish with marshmallow (like above), and cinnamon.
